Short answer
Add a blog to your existing website (Squarespace, WordPress, or Wix all support this), write articles that answer questions your customers search for on Google, and publish consistently. That's the whole strategy.
Why a business blog works
Every article you publish is a new page Google can rank. A business that publishes 50 articles answering real customer questions has 50 chances to show up in search results. A business with no blog has one chance (their homepage).
Blog content also builds trust — customers who read your articles before buying convert at a higher rate.
Step 1: Add a blog to your website
- Squarespace: Pages → + → Blog
- Wix: Add Page → Blog
- WordPress: Blog is built in by default
- Shopify: Online Store → Blog Posts
Step 2: Choose what to write about
Focus on questions your customers actually ask:
- "How much does [your service] cost?"
- "How do I know if I need [your service]?"
- "What's the difference between X and Y?"
- "How do I choose the right [product/service] provider?"
These questions have search traffic and your answers demonstrate your expertise.
Step 3: Write articles properly for SEO
- Use your target keyword in the title and first paragraph
- Use subheadings (H2, H3) to break up content
- Aim for 600–1,500 words per article
- Link to other relevant articles on your site
- Add a CTA at the end (contact, book, subscribe)
Step 4: Publish consistently
One article per week for 6 months gives you 26 articles and a solid foundation. One article per month for 2 years is better than a burst of 20 articles then stopping.
